Borg Warner Speed Sensor, specific to the EFR range, measures the turbocharger RPM, to ensure the engine is utilizing the compressor efficiency that the EFR range provides.
The Borg Warner EFR range of turbochargers come with a pre-machined port, which is allocated for the this turbocharger speed sensor. This port stops short in protruding into the compressor housing bore. If this speed sensor is purchased, the compressor cover needs to be removed, and the hole drilled through, so that the speed sensor can protrude the compressor housing, and be set up at the right distance to measure the turbocharger RPM.
The speed sensor is powered by a +5V supply and the return signal is a variable frequency square wave that has maximum amplitude of 5V and has a 50% duty cycle.
