When building a high-performance Ford DOHC 6-cylinder (Barra) engine, oil control is essential. The Atomic Big Ears Sump Upgrade boosts oil capacity and improves control without compromising ground clearance — making it the perfect solution for serious street, drag, and circuit builds.

With an approximate +2.5L increase in oil volume, this standard-depth sump features internal baffling to reduce oil surge under cornering and acceleration. It’s also available with an optional pickup tube for external wet sump pumps, making it ready for serious oiling system upgrades.

🛠️ Important Fitment Note – For Use with 16mm Girdles:

🔧If you are installing this sump on an engine fitted with an Atomic 16mm Main Girdle, modifications are required due to the increased height of the main stud nuts.

• Issue: The rear four main stud nuts will typically contact the sump floor.
• Solution: You must drill clearance holes in the sump floor and weld in alloy cups to cover them.
• Reference: Please see the 3D model in the product images for the exact location of these clearance cups. This modification ensures correct fitment and oil-tight sealing.
