Atomic Race Spec Steel Oil Pump – Ford Barra DOHC
Factory alloy oil pumps and billet aluminium oil pumps have a fatal flaw: thermal expansion. As your engine gets hot, the aluminium housing expands faster than the steel gears inside, increasing internal clearances and causing oil pressure to drop—exactly when you need it most. Additionally, under high RPM harmonics, alloy housings can flex, leading to cavitation and inconsistent flow.
We thoroughly test run every single pump across temperature and RPM. Manufacturing a steel pump is just the start. Our technicians manually port and smooth the oil galleries on every unit to remove casting flash and optimize flow dynamics. This attention to detail ensures maximum volumetric efficiency and reduces cavitation at high RPM. Our oil pump dyno lets us test every unit across temperature and RPM range before we send it out. We check for correct pressure regulation by the pressure relief valve and make sure the pump runs smoothly, quietly and in the target pressure zone.
The Atomic Stainless Steel Oil Pump is the ultimate oiling solution for high-performance Barras. The rigid steel housing maintains consistent gear-to-housing clearance regardless of temperature, ensuring rock-solid oil pressure from cold start to the finish line. Each pump is expertly assembled and tested in-house using our race-proven Gas Nitrided Billet Gears and backing plate.

Application: Standard VCT Engines
Designed for engines retaining the factory Variable Cam Timing (VCT) system. Provides increased pressure over stock for bearing protection without overpowering the VCT phasers.
Application: Non-VCT or High-Stress VCT
The choice for race engines with VCT delete kits, or extreme-duty VCT setups (e.g., Time Attack) where maximum oil pressure is required to combat high G-forces and heat.
