When used in conjunction with a 1JZ/2JZGTE oil pump, crank gear and sensor allows the removal of the factory Distributor (requires capable aftermarket ECU).
Not only does this have a much nicer cosmetic appeal it also offers a more reliable source of triggering a 2JZGE engine, Which makes it perfect for N/A to Turbo conversions. (The 2JZGTE oil pump is also a far superior oil pump with much larger galleries and gears versus a factory 2JZGE pump).
The included bracket spacers mount on top of the drive belt tensioner to provide an initial 0.25mm clearance between the sensor and the cam gear trigger. We have also provided 10 x 0.1mm shims to adjust this gap according to your tuner’s specifications; however, we generally recommend a final clearance of approximately 0.6mm.
